Hello! My name is Tessa Meakins, and I will be leading the Compassion DTS here at YWAM Newcastle this upcoming October. I am very excited about all God has in store for this DTS. He has been giving me vision and ideas about how this school is going to go out into the city of Newcastle and come alongside people to be the hands and feet of Jesus.



God has also been showing me that this DTS will be a school that not only disciples students, but releases them into their callings, giving them vision of a future partnered in ministry with Christ.



What a journey we are going to go on together!



We will begin by learning all about who God is: his character, his love, his strength, and his power. Then we will discover who God created us to be: his children, his disciples, and his workers. While we are learning, we will put into action our hearts for the lost while going out into the community. Whether it be a soup kitchen, seniors’ home, or hospital, we will be there to meet the needs of the people.



Outreach will take us on a different kind of journey to another part of the world! Together we will grow in unity as a team and walk out daily in the things God speaks to us. Whether working with orphans or building a house, the Lord will flow through us and others’ lives will be impacted for Him!
