Thirty Villagers Receive Jesus

By YWAM Newcastle on November 27, 2013 in Discipleship Training Schools, Evangelism, Outreach

The latest testimony from one of our World Explorer DTS outreach teams currently in Tahiti.

Since meeting the community living in the shanties tucked alongside the shore of Tahiti, our team has been returning day after day. Each time we do, our hearts are moved to respond because we see how hungry these children are for their God’s love. The message of their perfect Heavenly Father desperately wanting to give them hope and a future feels lost in our language barrier.

With a team of nineteen people, ranging from 9 months old to well-seasoned in life, we met with the villagers. Everyone gathered on the beach to listen to what the crazy, English-speaking missionaries had to say via translators. We got to tell them the reason why we continually came back to hang out with them.

Testimonies of God’s transforming love were told and Bibles were passed out.

The Gospel was shared simply to this group of all ages.

Emily approached one particular group of men hanging in the background and started a conversation. After telling one intoxicated man about Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, she began to pray for him. As she was praying, his eyes cleared up and he was no longer incoherent.

This man became instantly sober by the power of God moving through Emily’s prayer!

By the end of the day, our team was standing hand in hand with over thirty new brothers and sisters as they accepted Jesus and the gift of salvation into their lives. After weeks of showing this community a portion of God’s love, we were blessed to witness their first steps.
