Session 1

ENGAGE: Observe

This session will be aimed at helping you OBSERVE what is written in the Bible. We will discuss questions to ask of the Bible; including “Who, what, where, when and how”.

 

Session 2

ENGAGE: Understand

This session will be aimed at helping you UNDERSTAND what is written in the Bible. We will discuss issues like historical and cultural context, as well as ask ‘why’ questions. (ie ‘why did the author say this’?)

 

Session 3

ENGAGE: Apply

This session will be aimed at helping you APPLY what is written in the Bible. We will discuss how to draw out timeless truths from the Scriptures, and how to actively live out the principles that we have discovered.


Meet The Speakers

Amelia Taylor

Amelia was born in England and grew up in country Victoria, Australia.

She has been on staff at YWAM Newcastle for 7 years, during which she has pioneered the Bible Core Course here and teaches the Bible on different courses.

Amelia is passionate about seeing people know the truth about God, and themselves, and allowing that truth to transform their lives.

Caitlin Friesen

Caitlin is from a small rural town in Manitoba, Canada.

She has been on staff with YWAM Newcastle for 4 years over which time she has staffed 3 Bible Core Courses with YWAM Newcastle.

Caitlin loves seeing people encounter more of God’s character through their study of the Bible.

Michael Cooke

Michael was born in New Zealand and grew up in Sydney, Australia.

He joined staff with YWAM Newcastle in 2011 and has been serving in our Training Department ever since.

Michael has found that the Bible exposes God as deeply loving and compassionate; one that feels the pain of His people and is moved to respond.
